#82 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2008
Incredible color! Loads of spicy red fruit aromas with notes of rose petal and cocoa. The red berry and black cherry flavors really pop on the palate as the wine has both good depth and very lively acidity that leads to an incredibly long finish. A bottom note of black licorice keeps the mouth watering.

The colour is intense violet, concentrated and brilliant, with ruby hues. On the nose there is a combination of complex aromas of red and black ripe fruits like plums, blackberries, cherries and dried figs. On the Palate notes of vanilla, coffee, leather, eucalyptus and tobacco, typical of oak ageing. Full bodied wine with sweet tannins and well balanced acidity. Good structure and longevity. Complex length in mouth.

Blackberry and currants on the nose. Juicy palate of rich fruit.
Finishes with berries and dark chocolate. The Malbecs from Argentina can be dark and powerful. This one has those qualities, although somewhat simple in composition, at a fair price of $11 or so. In this price range they tend to be simple, but they often carry a nice flavor profile that compliments hearty food.

There is a lovely silkiness to the fruit here, with a black plum depth that is very sensuous and deep, but also hints of a bright violetty brightness and some coffee in the background. On the palate very good, silky, broad texture, and the red fruit elegance and violetty exotic character shows thorough. Lovely tannins and acids again, in a terrific Malbec. 90/100

More suave, polished, quite dense cherry and plum fruit. Very nice oak treatment, with a coffee warmth before the ripe berry fruit reveals a slightly truffly side, with nice, ripe tannins and good acidity. Very attractive.
